Generally to begin a career in architecture, one must first obtain at a minimum bachelor's in architecture, though there are two variants: a B.A. (which is focused more on the design and artful aspects of architecture) or a B.S. (which is focused more on the technical aspect and structural components of design). Practical experience, which includes internships and experience programs can help you learn information about your daily life as an architect, separate from the classroom setting, things like project management, documentation, and construction instruction. Becoming a professional architect requires you to be licensed, and to acquire this license you must pass the Architecture Registration Exam. This exam covers aspects of the field similar to what you learn in your practical experience. After passing, you'll likely try to sign with firms and build your portfolio from there. Depending on where you sign, your goals will be different and your expectations for what to look out for will vary. Some examples of specialized architecture fields include residential design, sustainable/green design, historic preservation, and urban planning.

Project going pretty smoove. Enjoying working with the charcoal, though it can be a bit messy. Proud of how it's turning out.

This refresher on figure drawing helped reinforce some of the ideas I had forgotten from the first time Tommy had come to teach us, such as remaining lose but also capturing the figure in light strokes. I found the contour exercises specifically helpful in understanding the form because it made me focus on purely drawing what I observed as opposed to what I believed the form to look like. The quick gesture drawings helped me identify forms in quick successive strokes, and the culminating portrait activity really surprised me in my ability to capture a somewhat realistic image using a three tone value scale and my understanding of form and negative space.
